Quick Trip to Iowa

At the end of our week we made a quick trip to Ankeny, Iowa to see my mother. She was having a better day. She had smiles for us, though she still does not talk. I know she still does not like my beard. On the way back to Missouri we took an excursion to see some of the Bridges of Madison County. We also stopped at a Christmas tree and flower farm and found a farm animal petting zoo that Allyn thoroughly enjoyed. There was an old goat with a beard ... it actually was an old goat, not Turtle. There was also the funniest looking chicken we have ever seen ... it had an afro of feathers on its head. The motel we stayed at in Cameron, Missouri (a Best Western) also had a couple acre, botanical and vegetable garden. Allyn saw her first growth of asparagus.
