On the way home we took a meandering journey through Oak Creek Canyon ending in Sedona. At the bottom of the canyon the vegetation is lush ... you almost forget you are in Arizona. The walls of the canyon are cliffs that soar hundreds of feet high, and they have the same strata formations and colors as the "Big Hole." Turtle thinks it is more enjoyable to look up at these cliffs than to look down into the "Big Hole." Rose enjoyed the 20 mile drive except for the switchback descent into the canyon.
P.S. Our camera went on the fritz when we got home, so you will have to call us to learn about the rest of our month long anniversary celebrations. By next Tuesday there will be no carpet in the house. We got a great deal, and the family room and living room will have the same wood laminate as are in the bedrooms and hall ... looks really neat so far in the family room, but with no camera, you will have to take our word for it, or come and visit.
P.P.S. We had a delightful couple of days with the MacBride family. They were on their way from St. Louis to their first minstry in San Diego. We were glad we could be an oasis for them in their trek through the desert. Now we have another reason to visit San Diego.
