Rose and Turtle took a week excursion to visit families in the Midwest. We had prayed for several specific things, especially for good traveling weather and for our visit with Turtle's Mom. Our Father mercifully granted all our requests. We had excellent times with all Rose's family and friends in St. Louis, with Turtle's son's family in Shiloh Illinois, and with Turtle's Mom in Ankeny Iowa. On December 31 we awoke to hoarfrost on all the trees . . . what a beautiful scene all across the land. Our only "hitch" was on the last leg of our journey. We had to switch planes in Albuquerque. We were due to leave at 9:00 PM, but the plane was delayed and did not arrive until midnight. As a result Rose and Turtle finally hit the bed about 2:30 this morning . . . glad for our excursion, but definitely happy to be out of winter weather and home again.

What a beautiful scene! Viewing pictures like this is how I prefer to enjoy the snow. :-) I am very thankful for the warmth of my island home.
