Thursday was our first anniversary . . . what a special year this has been! Being leap year, we even had an extra day to enjoy. To celebrate, Turtle took Rose to the "Rim Country" of Arizona for a couple of days. We stayed at a Resort called Bison Ranch, and they did have one living bison named Alice. We spent one day outside in the cool mountain air, sightseeing and fishing. The lake shot is at Willow Springs. Turtle did get one small trout there. The panoramic view is from the road to Woods Canyon Lake. Those are all Poderosa pines . . . not cacti . . . for any who think that Arizona is simply desert and cacti. For those of you who remember this region and camp from years past, the area was greener than Turtle has ever seen it in seventeen years for late July. There have been many monsoon rains on the rim this year after years of drought.
Thank you, Lord, for my Rose. She has been such a blessing to my life and ministry. You filled my heart to overflowing again with joy when you gave her to me.
Rose here, Folks......it really has been an amazing year - so many changes, so much fun, so many people to meet and places to go, and so much love in our lives. Of course I let him catch the fish (and I did bait my own hook). It has been years since I fished in fresh water, and now I remember why I enjoyed it so much (and still do). We had a grand dinner out - the photo of us above was taken "of us" "by us" at the table - pretty good for rookies, huh? The next morning we were able to find our souvenir turtle with no struggle, and then we headed into the beautiful scenery for a leisurely drive home. Coming home together is grand, too...... thank you, Lord, for your mercies.
