Our Midwest Trip
Rose and Turtle have just returned from a trip to the Midwest. When we arrived in St. Louis, we immediately drove to Iowa. We saw flooding along the Mississippi River. We spent the evening in Centerville where Turtle showed Rose familiar sights from his family's times there. The next day we spent with Turtle's mom and brother in Ankeny, and then went on to Holden, Missouri to visit Turtle's sister-in-law Joyce. The rest of our time was spent in the Saint Louis area visiting family and friends . . . over to Illinois to meet Avery Wilder Tock, our new grandwiggle, and his family . . . back to Saint Louis to a a friend's home, a wedding, and church on Sunday for Rose to see friends. Sunday afternoon was a gathering at the house with the Perkins family, the Tock family, and the Myers family. What fun it was to be together and see our grandchildren enjoying each other. Monday we said good-by to the green, humid, cooler temperatures of St. Louis and returned to brown, dry, and 112 degree temperatures of Glendale. Thank you, Father, for another safe and enjoyable trip.
