Family Adventures

A new adventure began on May 19 when the Perkins family arrived from St. Louis for a two week visit. Lindsay and the children stayed with Rose and Turtle while John P. went to Seattle to check out a church for a possible internship. The days were filled with birthday parties for Eva and Lindsay. Trips were made to favorite parks. Swimming parties and other backyard activities with the Bright family filled a few days. Lindsay left to be with John for four days, so Rose and Turtle had a special time with Eva and Shepherd. We made a fun trip to Cabelas to see all the stuffed animals and fish. Our normally hot Phoenix weather was amazingly pleasant during these days, and there was even two rainy days in our driest part of the year. We were introduced to a children's program called the Backyardigans. The theme song was indelibly imprinted on Turtle's brain. Shepherd really had fun dancing to the tunes, and Rose had more fun watching him. The visit ended on June 4. The house was put back in its normal state, but Rose left the children's fingerprints on the mirror and glass backdoor for a few days as a reminder of the joy of their presence with us.
